Chef Michael McFarland’s love of food started early and never let go. After studying Hotel Management at Georgian College — where he discovered his true calling in the culinary program during his first year — he spent a year working in hospitality in Scotland and travelled through Europe, soaking up the flavours, ingredients, and food traditions of each place along the way.
Those experiences shaped the way Chef Michael cooks today — a love of bold, layered flavours and a real passion for sauces and the craft of building and enhancing a flavour profile until every bite is balanced and memorable. But no matter the dish, he believes the best meals are the ones shared around a table with people you care about — and that’s the feeling he brings to every event he cooks.
When he’s not cooking for clients, Chef Michael is happiest outdoors — camping and canoe-tripping (there’s always a cooler of good food and a camp stove along for the ride), travelling, and spending time with his family — or hosting dinner parties for friends and hunting down new ingredients at local markets.
